$10 Freight charge implementation effective from Sunday March 1 2020
Leina Broughton will be introducing a flat rate shipping cost of $10 for every order received from Sunday 1st March 2020.
In order to future proof our 100% Australian owned and operated business, we can no longer absorb the increasing freight charges we incur on an annual basis from our logistics partners. However, please know are still absorbing some additional costs in this transaction.
We approached this with full transparency so you as a consumer can make an informed purchasing decision knowing you are supporting an Australian brand that employs other Australians and injects back into our economy.
We are mindful of the growing impact on national logistics and the current stresses our logistics supply chain is under given the increase in volume of international purchases. This has an impact on our ports, communities, logistic operations, roads and our environment all together. And is projected to grow by 35% in the coming years.
We have also experienced a hike in manufacturing costs up to 48%. In most instances we have absorbed as much as we can. We engage ethically accredited factories and mum and dad operators to make the Leina Broughton product. We want to be able to continue to operate ethically with our manufacturing partners as we believe in a fair and equitable arrangement. Simply put, we want everyone to be here for a long time.
Whilst this may be going against the trend of current retail practices, and the actions of our competitors, we know nothing is for “free”. The free freight (also think freight included) marketing tactic is an extremely enticing convenience, but we ask at what cost? 2020 started with bad news in the Australian retail sector of more business closures and loss of Australian jobs. We all have a choice as consumers to make ethical decisions to support our Australian brands.
After reading this some of you will feel the introduction of a $10 freight fee per transaction is still unacceptable, of which we respect. Some of you will completely understand the importance of supporting a local Australian business and the costs that comes with it and we thank you for your ongoing support.

INHOUSE STYLING SESSIONS:
The first Saturday of every month we will open our studio for 6 x 45 minute styling session. This is for local and interstate customers who wish to try a variety of styles to ascertain what works for their body and to ensure confidence at check out for future purchasing. Exchanges will be easier if they become a repurchase. If you wish to try an alternative size you are best to reorder and redeem your rewards to offset freight charges. Your returned items that weren’t quite right will be refunded upon receipt back at LBHQ. Read more here.
